"Mr." Obama?!!

OK, maybe I haven't been paying attention but in the last 2 days I have heard the media on the radio and on a major network news station refer to our President as Mr. Obama. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that's PRESIDENT Obama to you!

Really people help me out because I honestly don't remember President Bush EVER being called Mr.

Is it me?

(Oh, and if it's not me, color this woman pissed! I'm just sayin'...)

Hmmm. I don't think it is just you. But then, there were so many interesting and descriptive titles that could be applied to Bush that maybe we just never got around to using "Mr."....

Frankly your being stupid. If all you care about is Obama being called "president" then that's stupid. So far Obama still can't get his act together. Why don't you start analysing his politics and not what his temporary title is.

Wish I'd caught your blog sooner, but I'm woefully behind on this whole blogosphere scene. Love what you have to say and how you say it... Hope you post again soon. If you feel like you might want to read the words of, or communicate with, someone else who seems both as lost and as open that notion as you are, and willing to just experience that overly-used metaphor of the journey, please come find me at: www.righteousventing.blogspot.com. I think we might have a lot in common. I wish you luck with it all.

I hear what you're saying and our of respect, whether I agree with the President's politics or not, I always refer to him as President. Regarding President Bush, I recall numerous times people would not use his title, e.g. "I hate Bush".

Sorry..but you earn respect...not demand it.

Obama (yes...I don't bother to give him the respect of a Mr. or President) is in over his head. But then again what can we expect from a Community Organizer. (whatever that is)

And all you President Bush bashers...where were all of you when Obama involved us in the Libya mess? Besides lowering our dollar to almost nothing...high unemployment...outrageous gas prices...trips to the grocery store now require you to cash in your life insurance policy...bailing out GM....and helping out his cronies at GE...who don't pay taxes....not to mention almost half the Country who don't pay taxes....why do you believe he deserves the respect of being called President?

Can't wait for 2012. I will vote for ANYONE but him. Don't really care who it is....cause anyone is better than him.

I'm not a big fan of our current president, but he *is* our current *president*. Thus he should always be referred to as President Obama. It is a sign of respect for the office as well as for the man.

I like Obama, I don't think it's a big deal if every time he's mentioned he's referred to as "President" or "Mr." I think it all comes down to this- it's not what you say, its how you say it.

I am 44 years old and I can remember seeing every president on television back to Richard Nixon. Yes, it is proper and correct to call a standing President of the United States "Mr." in lieu of "President."
If you want to complain about titles, I suggest that we stop referring to former presidents in the present tense - Such as calling Mr. Clinton "President Clinton" when he no longer.

If all you have to complain about is someone not calling Obama "President", then you really should get out more.
People, and maybe even you, disrespected Bush much, much worse than just not calling him "President". In fact, most of the things they called him can't even be printed in polite society.

Secondly, how can anyone respect an American President who himself has no respect for America?

What a juvenile remark. The man was elected by a significant majority of the voting public who know every bit as much about this country as do you. Grow up.
